BEST ALL CANADIAN CATS OF THE YEAR
Royal Canin Canada is proud to be the official partner of the Canadian Cat Association All Canadian Awards programme.
Points earned during each competition are added during the whole season by three scorers assigned for that purpose by the CCA. Cats that earn the greatest number of points will be part of the list of Best All Canadian Cats, Kittens, Alters and Household Pets of the year. In June, following the end of the season, an Awards Banquet is held to honour the best cats and to present their owners with trophies and certificates.
Points are calculated on the basis of all the finals of all competitions held during the year (from May 1st to April 30th of the following year). Calculation of points is the same for all groups of cats. Based on this system, the best cat in an “All breed final” - consisting of shorthair and longhair breeds – receives 100 points, the second best received 92 points, the third 84, the fourth, 76, etc. In a “specialty” final – longhair OR shorthair – the winner gets 50 points, the second best receives 46, the third, 42, the fourth 38, etc.
There are five regions in the Canadian Cat Association : region 1 (’Ontario), region 2 (province of Québec), region 3 (Maritimes provinces), region 4 (Western Canada) and region 5 (or international) for all breeders and owners residing in a foreign country.
